Investments in renewable energies Our Law Firm at Windenergietage 2025 in Potsdam

Windenergietagen 2025 in Potsdam

From 12 to 14 November 2025, the 33rd edition of Windenergietage took place at Kongresshotel Potsdam — one of the largest and most important wind energy events in Germany. This year’s conference brought together 4,419 participants representing nearly 500 companies, associations, foundations, and media outlets from the wind energy sector.

Why Windenergietage Matter for the Industry

Windenergietage has for many years served as a central meeting platform for the German wind energy sector. The conference connects developers, investors, manufacturers, advisors, regulatory institutions, and media, offering:

  • an exchange of practical experience,
  • presentations of new technologies,
  • market and trend analysis,
  • and discussions on legal, tax and financial challenges of the sector.

The combination of exhibitions, panel debates, and thematic forums fosters long-term partnerships and cross-border cooperation.

Our Participation – Strong Representation and Active Contribution

Our law firm was represented by:

  • Attorney-at-law Henning von Zanthier, Partner
  • Attorney-at-law (PL) Łukasz Dachowski, Partner
  • Attorney-at-law (PL) Jakub Wysocki
  • Attorney-at-law (PL) Justyna Loretańska

Our experts led two thematic roundtables that attracted a broad audience. The sessions focused on:

  • the implementation of wind energy investments in Poland,
  • legal and tax aspects of project development,
  • and the market outlook for renewable energy in Poland.

The aim was to provide practical, reliable insights and discuss real investment conditions.

Additionally, we gave an interview for the magazine Erneuerbare Energien on the status and prospects of the Polish wind energy market.

The online article is available under the title: “Windmarkt Polen: 10H-Regel weiter mit Ausnahmen bis 700 Meter.”

Presentations at the “GO EAST Poland” Expert Forum

During the expert forum “GO EAST Poland,” organised by our firm as part of Windenergietage 2025, our attorneys presented key legal, tax and investment issues related to the Polish wind energy market.

Attorney-at-law (PL) Justyna Loretańska – “Investing in Wind Energy in Poland. Practical Tips from Practitioners to Practitioners”

Key topics included:

  • securing land, environmental procedures, and grid connection,
  • common mistakes made by international investors (e.g., using foreign contract templates not suited to Polish conditions, starting environmental procedures too late, insufficient securing of grid-connection terms),
  • recommendations for lease agreements, administrative procedures, and the use of cable pooling in hybrid projects (wind + PV).

Attorney-at-law (PL) Jakub Wysocki – “A New Eldorado for Wind Energy in Poland? New Regulations Including the Liberalisation of the 10H Rule.”

Key points included:

  • a detailed overview of the current legal framework,
  • exceptions to the 10H distance rule and potential further liberalisation,
  • repowering opportunities as the key growth area,
  • accelerated RES development zones and environmental simplifications,
  • and offshore prospects, including legislative proposals to shorten investment procedures and increase regulatory predictability.

Poland as an Attractive Market — Our Message to Investors

Throughout the conference, our experts emphasized:

  • the strong development potential of the Polish wind energy market,
  • the increasing stability of the legal and tax framework,
  • and the opportunities for German and international investors active in the sector.

We provide comprehensive legal and tax support for investors, developers, and service providers — from planning and permitting, through financing structures, to operational and compliance aspects.
