Current International Trade Forum 2026 in Zurich: discussions on Swiss companies’ expansion into Poland

On 23 April 2026, the International Trade Forum 2026 took place at the Kongresshaus Zurich, organised by Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE). The Forum is one of the key platforms for the Swiss export community: it brings together companies, Swiss Business Hub experts, business leaders and public-sector representatives, creating a space to discuss international expansion, new markets and business resilience in a changing economic environment.

Łukasz Dachowski, Managing Partner at VON ZANTHIER & DACHOWSKI, participated in the event. In Zurich, he held discussions with representatives of Swiss companies about the practical aspects of entering and developing business operations in Poland. The firm’s presence also created an opportunity for individual, confidential conversations with companies facing legal, tax or organisational questions related to the Polish market.

This year’s discussions at the International Trade Forum showed that international trade is becoming increasingly complex. Export-oriented companies need to take into account geopolitical risks, supply chain resilience, regulatory developments and the ability to respond quickly when disruptions occur. In this environment, strong local partners are becoming increasingly important, especially those who understand both the realities of the target market and the expectations of internationally active companies.

From the perspective of Swiss companies, Poland remains an attractive direction for expansion: as a sales market, investment location, production base, service centre or part of a regional strategy in Central and Eastern Europe. An important role in supporting such processes is played by Swiss Business Hub Central Europe , which operates within the Embassy of Switzerland in Warsaw and supports Swiss and Liechtenstein SMEs interested in developing their business in Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary.

The importance of regional cooperation is also emphasised by the Chamber of Commerce Switzerland - Central Europe (SEC), which supports economic relations between Switzerland and the countries of Central Europe. A network of institutions, organisations and local experts gives companies a practical basis for making decisions about international expansion.

For more than 30 years, VON ZANTHIER & DACHOWSKI has supported companies from the DACH region in Poland, combining legal and tax advisory with a practical understanding of cross-border business. The firm advises, among other areas, on company formation, investments, transactions, employment, commercial contracts, manufacturing and energy projects, and ongoing support for foreign companies operating in Poland.

Łukasz Dachowski’s participation in the International Trade Forum 2026 highlights the importance of direct dialogue with companies and institutions supporting international trade. For Swiss companies planning expansion into Poland, it is essential not only to assess market potential, but also to prepare legally, fiscally and organisationally at an early stage of the investment planning process.

Accident Insurance Contribution - What It Is and How It Can Be Reduced

The accident insurance contribution is one of the mandatory components of employment costs. Although many entrepreneurs treat it as a levy over which they have no real control, in practice, it often turns out that this contribution is being paid at an excessive rate. A proper review of documentation may lead to its reduction — not only for the future, but even retroactively for up to five years.
